Toowong Private Hospital is accredited by SAI Global to Quality ISO 9001+ NSQHS requirements and is a teaching Hospital of The University of Queensland.

At Toowong Private Hospital, the quality care we provide to all patients is
matched by the quality of our facilities.

Our rooms are clean, fresh and modern, and are equipped with top-of-the-range electronic beds, making them a very comfortable home away from home.

We have 58 beds available for patients across single and twin-share room;
most rooms have ensuite facilities. Patients without ensuite facilities find our
male and female patient amenities are within easy reach.

Room availability is dependent upon clinical needs and patient numbers. We try
very hard to meet all patient preferences. However, we know you'll understand
that there are times when this is not possible.

We pride ourselves on the quality of food we serve at the Toowong Private
Hospital. All meals are prepared daily by qualified chefs who are happy to meet
any special dietary requirements; we ask that patients advise their nurse of any
special needs.

Our menu, which changes weekly, offers a great variety of choice. Visitors are
welcome to purchase their meals for a small fee; please see Reception.

Meals are served in our dining room as follows:

  • Early morning tea 5.30-7.00 am
  • Breakfast 7.30 - 8.30 am
  • Morning tea 10.00 - 10.30 am
  • Lunch 12.00 - 1.00 pm
  • Afternoon tea 3.00 - 3.30 pm
  • Dinner 5.30 - 6.30 pm

Toowong Private Hospital has three courtyards and two lounge areas in which
patients can relax with visitors or other patients.

The lounge areas feature plasma  televisions, DVD player, board games and puzzles. Newspapers are available from the lounge areas on a daily basis. Computer facilities, designated for patient use, are available in one of the lounge areas via a prepaid card system. Patients may bring laptops to the hospital at their own risk.

The library, situated in Milton House, provides a range of reading material,
including fiction and non-fiction books, together with mental health information
and pamphlets.

A well-equipped gym is available for use by patients under supervision.
Opening times are on display.

Toowong Private Hospital does not have on-site laundry facilities; however, there are local services you may wish to engage to launder your personal items.

Telephones are available in each room for each patient. Incoming calls will automatically be directed to the relevant patient telephone. A refundable deposit can be paid at Reception to enable outgoing calls from the patient’s allocated telephone at their bedside. Telephone calls will incur usual costs and a telephone account will be provided on a weekly basis. It is possible to decline telephone calls if required; the nursing staff can assist with this.
